Course Description

This course covers creating effective tables, forms, and reports. Discover how to design forms so you can easily enter, edit, and delete information. Learn the principles of data validation and how to error-trap your inputs. This course covers special techniques for creating sophisticated reports, grouping data for subtotals, and generating mailing labels. Additional topics include understanding field properties, working with indexes and primary keys, using functions in queries and reports, and creating summary reports.

In this course, you will learn to: 

  • Use field properties to customize table design and control user input. 

  • Utilize indexes and primary keys to speed queries and improve database design. 

  • Create parameter queries to query your data using flexible criteria. 

  • Use aggregate operators in queries to return counts, sums, averages, minimums, and 

  • maximums of values that meet certain criteria. 

  • Design forms to input data and interact with users. 

  • Design and use reports to present information effectively. 

  • Use grouping and sorting to organize data in a report. 

  • Use report summary options to insert totals in your reports. 

  • Use mathematical expressions and functions to interpret data in a report. 

  • Create automatic mailing labels and form letters with your data.
