Course Description

Understand the concepts of WordPress, a content management system used for creating and maintaining a website. Work with the Dashboard to add content and manage settings. Use the WordPress built-in editor to create new pages and posts, add pictures, videos, audio, links, and text to your site. Help your readers find posted information by organizing your site with categories and tags. Learn to add custom menus with title attributes, manage and moderate reader comments, and install and use plugins to add functionality to your site. Explore how to improve the appearance of your site by selecting an appropriate theme. Other topics discussed include configuring WordPress settings, linking to internal and external content, designating the home page, and navigating the dashboard.

In this class, you will learn how to: 

  • Create different types of posts. 

  • Understand the available editor functions with the block editor. 

  • Incorporate images, video, and audio into your site. 

  • Work with the media center. 

  • Organize your content with categories and tags. 

  • Customize the comments feature to interact with readers. 

  • Create and edit pages of static content and display them in custom menus. 

  • Designate your blog page and make other appropriate changes to settings. 

  • Improve the appearance of your links. 

  • Understand the role of themes and plugins with WordPress.
