Course Description

Learn to design effective spreadsheets that others can use and interpret easily. Practice applying effective design techniques, including naming cells, protecting cells, and making your spreadsheets easy to read. Additional topics include working with multiple worksheets, creating templates, rounding data, using conditional functions, and applying conditional formatting.

In this course, you will learn to: 

  • Work with multiple worksheets in a single workbook 

  • Name cells and ranges and use these names in formulas 

  • Use the ROUND function to round numbers 

  • Use conditional functions to count and sum cell ranges 

  • Test a condition with the IF function 

  • Format cells based on a condition 

  • Apply elements of good spreadsheet design 

  • Create and use templates 

  • Protect cells in your spreadsheet 

  • Use functions on noncontiguous areas 

Prerequisites

Introduction to Excel or equivalent experience.
