Course Description

Learn to apply sophisticated text effects, such as hanging punctuation and decorative initial capital letters. Use the commands that give you precise control over hyphenation, justification, and paragraph composition. Increase your efficiency and ensure consistency by setting up styles and libraries. In class, you will create a book with a table of contents, as well as discuss preparing a document for output using the Preflight and Package plug-ins.

By the end of the course, you will be able to: 

• Creating hanging punctuation using Optical Margin Alignment 

• Creating decorative initial capital letters 

• Customizing hyphenation and justification settings 

• Aligning text to a baseline grid 

• Increasing your efficiency by using styles, libraries, snippets, and books
