Course Description

Learn how to do more complicated queries joining two tables in a database. Understand the different types of joins, such as inner joins, outer joins, and Cartesian products. Learn how to specify multiple criteria, work with the various clauses, and use the aggregate functions with joins. Understand how to create, modify, and delete views. Topics include using the UNION operation to combine the results of two queries into a single result set. Additional topics include comparing the results of multiple queries using EXCEPT and INTERCEPT, and using ROLLUP and CUBE to summarize data.

In this course, you will learn to: 

  • Write a SELECT statement with clauses and logical operators. 

  • Create multiple table joins including inner and outer joins. 

  • Create, customize, and modify views. 

  • Combine multiple SELECT statements using the UNION operator. 

  • Compare data in similar tables using EXCEPT and INTERSECT operators. 

  • Use ROLLUP and CUBE commands to obtain different summaries. 

Prerequisites

Introduction to SQL or equivalent experience.
