Foundational Skills Using Excel is an introductory series of classes designed to establish a strong foundation in Microsoft Excel, a critical tool in data analysis and business operations. The program begins with the essentials of navigating the Excel interface, progresses through fundamental functions and formulas, and advances to data organization and basic analysis techniques. By the conclusion of this certification, you'll be equipped with the core skills to efficiently utilize Excel for various data-related tasks in a professional setting.

Requirements

This certification includes a series of progressive courses: Introduction to Excel, Intermediate to Excel, and Advanced to Excel. Completing this three-course sequence will result in issuing this certification and the accompanying badge, which may be displayed in your email signature and on LinkedIn.

Note: Our Introduction to Excel course quickly moves beyond data entry and into creating formulas and functions. Please review the course description carefully before enrolling into Intermediate Applications of Excel.

Schedule

Courses are held monthly and may be taken online synchronously or in person at our training center in Des Peres, St. Louis County, Missouri. Employers and job centers may also request training held at an offsite location. Please contact info@cetc.umsl.edu for further information.

Pathways

This certification satisfies 19.5 hours of the required courses for the following UMSL Chancellor’s Certificates: Excel and Business Applications Certifications. Each course is worth 0.65 CEUs.

Industry Recognized Exam

This certification can prepare you to complete the Microsoft Excel Expert (Microsoft 365 Apps) Exam. This exam will be proctored at the University of Missouri – St. Louis testing center. If interested, Additional information could be available upon request.
